So, I signed up for my first postcard swap hosted by My Little Mochi. Sounded fun and simple enough.
I got 10 names. I then made a postcard for each person based on something on her site that inspired me. At first, I printed them out on presentation paper and was going to mail them like cards in an envelope. Then, last minute, I found some special postcard paper with the perforated edges and everything! Oh, and did you know that domestic US postcard stamps are less than Canada postcard stamps which are less than all other country stamps? Wild, eh? But they’re mailed!
Besides giving me more reason to play with Illustrator, it introduced me to wonderful artists I might never have seen! (I’ll post my images in a bit. Wanna give them some time to travel the globe.)
So far I have gotten three postcards and they are spiffy!

From Myra. She made this with a Gocco on 140 lb Cold Press Strathmore Watercolor stock. Impressive! Makes me want to get one of those things
Adorable. I wish the subtleness came through in the scan.

From Kerstin. I love how soft it looks and the way it’s attached — stitching. Again, something is lost in the scan like how it seems like fabric but isn’t.

From Hanna. Love the string in the bird’s beak! Wonderful surprise.
Each had a lovely little note on back. And each brightened my day. I’m so glad I did this!
I got your postcard and I love it!!
I absolutely love birds so I was excited to see that’s what you were inspired by my blog to create.
Yours is so lovely! Thank you!
Yah! i got your very flattering postcard today…I felt so special that you went to all that trouble to draw a picture from my blog…can’t wait to see what cool illustrations you did for the others. Thanks
