I keep blaming the air in this office. I have had a headache, been sick more and uh gained a couple pounds in the last two years. So, I get this email about stress. Fascinating article at CIO. This is scary, “CIOs have a vast amount of responsibility but little authority for controlling outcomes.” If I want to become a CIO, am I just dooming myself?
As a web developer, I run into the same thing though. “Here’s a project,” I will hear. I will do the project and when someone says “Make it do this” and I know it shouldn’t (like it makes no sense and will require much tweaking), tough. Though, I must say, nine times out of ten I can talk the customer out of the unnecessary change with a suggestion of a change that makes sense.
Stress. Hm.
“We’ve all come to believe that occasional headaches or muscle tension from stress is normal, but it isn’t normal,” says Tyne. “A normal body doesn’t have headaches.”
Sigh. I’ve had a constant headache for about 2 weeks now.
